ASHTABULA COUNTY AVIATION EDUCATION INITIATIVE SCHOLARSHIP

Applications Open September 9th – February 7th
As an AOPA member, you can unlock a world of aviation opportunities with scholarships, funded by generous donations to the AOPA Foundation. Over $1 million in scholarships are awarded each year to help AOPA members, including high school students, achieve their aviation goals.
Key Details:
- Application Period: September 9, 2024, and closes February 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
- Award Amounts: Ten (10) $5,000 awards available for Private Pilot Certificate.
Additional Criteria:
- Recipients must be residents of Ashtabula County, OH, and high school students between the ages of 16 and 18 at the time of the award.
- Open to AOPA members who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent legal residents
Special Opportunities:
- High School Students: With just one application, you’ll be automatically considered for all scholarships for which you’re eligible. The total number and value of scholarships will be determined by donor funding, which may be finalized just before the awards are announced in May 2025.
- AOPA You Can Fly Curriculum Teachers: Apply for one of 20 available $10,000 scholarships to earn your private pilot certificate. Additional criteria apply.
